Depressing chat to my still-in brother about the RC

here is a quick breakdown of our conversation (by text message).

me: "have you read about the royal commission?

Same story with my JW brother. After my bringing up judge Rutherford false prophecies, Beth Sarim and drunkenness.". Well, my brother's explanation was "it doesn't matter, Jehovah used brother Rutherford to grow the org"

Or the printed story about how Jehovah wanted Russell to have two mistakes (536 bce fall of Babylon and the fact that Russell overlooked the absence of year zero in the Gregorian calendar to do his calculations) in his 1914 prophecy so he could land in ...well....1914. Yep, divine guidance, even in the mistakes.

It is impossible for a JW to be wrong. Just amazing!

Why I have renounced Atheism and become a believer again

i have always said that if a god showed itself i would follow the evidence and renounce my atheism.

i have now seen enough to start believing again, i am so happy, i feel a inner contentment, when he connected with me i really knew it was him.

if you are not a believer you will not understand this, but trust me, look at the evidence, open your heart to him, let him in and your life will change for the better.

What do you expect in a city where the population is almost all undocumented. They ran out of legal residents and citizens. Some human has to be in the council.

my wife and i planned on fading but the elders now want a shepherding call and we are just done.

i know that many play the game to try to stay in, but i'm not a game player and neither is my wife.

our families already shun us because we reached out to a disfellowshipped family member.

i have been exchanging emails with my brother who is a jw.

i tried to convince him to watch the hearings of the royal commission, but he sent me a long list of reasons why he didn't trust "la obra teatral" (theater) and therefore he wouldn't watch anything.

he went on a rant of persecution stories in australia and how various governments would try to impede the preaching work.

I hate to admit it, but you are right. Nothing against you, I just naively thought that, given the mountains of evidence against the WT regarding many subjects, I would be able to talk him out of his devotion to WT. He and his wife are actually very happy in the Org and I am afraid that they can not conceive life without mother org.

I read the transcript and justice McClelland is not saying JW's procedures are the worst. He is saying they have different flaws from the flaws of others. I think you are misreading the context, even the text itself.

I need help. I have been exchanging emails with my brother who is a JW. The one that called my attention the most is that JW's were accused in America of being Russian spies, and the rest of the world accused them of being American spies.

Where did that come from? Is that an urban legend made up by a JW or is it from the WT?

I keep wondering where JWfacts (Paul) is. I get the feeling that he has something to do with the level of expertise on JWs of the Commission. He may have been one the ones who alerted the commission about pedophile haven too.
